It feels really good to finish this painting that I started early last year but put down over the warmer months. Last week I posted more progress photos for this piece here.
Watercolor on hot-press paper, the scene is of a local game reserve in January where I often to hiking. The sun is really alive in the winter when most trees are bare, and the bird-song sounds extra sharp. The winter is a wonderful time for hiking and also painting. This new painting is up on the portfolio gallery as well; I’m kind of in love with how it turned out.
