Yarn Remnant Single Crochet Hats

  • by

I had some leftover yarn from my scalloped medieval half-cape so I decided to make a matching hat for myself and a remnant hat for Jake. I took a really basic approach of single-crocheting in the round starting in the middle of the hat.

I worked my way up first, decreasing three times per row using  stitch markers until I got really close to the top whence I decreased rapidly to pull in the top closed.

Then with whatever remaining yarn, sometimes a different color, I worked down in a straight tube in the round. No folds on these as they’re costume pieces supposed to look pretty basic.

I ran out of yarn on Jake’s bottom and had to work in another color in a smaller weight which was a fun challenge. It creates a nice sherbet sunset color scheme though.
