Spring is almost here! What a roller-coaster of a winter. Mostly absent of snow, we’re finally getting a few big storms towards the official solar end to the season. After several days in the 60s in February I thought maybe I was too late in making this gift of a purple cowl, but the cold is back for another round.
In my continued efforts to use up yarn in storage and learn how to crochet, I’ve made another infinity cowl. You can view my last one, a two-color project, here. Crochet, in my opinion, is easier to learn than knitting and generally involves less counting; at least the projects that I have done so far require little to no counting which makes it a great activity for keeping the hands busy while watching TV or having a cup-of-tea and conversation with a friend.
This cowl slowly became a rectangle (perhaps my straightest one yet!) before I slip-stitched the two ends together to form a tube. Single-crochets all the way added to the meditation as my fingers now know mostly what to do without any help from my head.
I gifted this cowl to my mother, who goes for a walk every-day the weather allows. Hopefully with a new neck-warmer the cold days will be more inviting. She’s always liked purples and berry-tones, so this yarn immediately made me think of her.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to take out the compost and collect firewood before we get more snow.
