Getting back into crochet with my best rectangle yet! I made a color-blocked winter cowl.
In an attempt to get a better handle on the basics, I made this entire cowl using single-crochet stitch, with an emphasis on consistent tension and as straight an edge as I could manage.
I’m very happy with how it turned out; it’s very warm, and the two colors makes it fashionably more versatile. Folded over itself, whichever color is on top becomes the feature.
A single stitch over and over, no counting (I hate counting stitches), was very meditative on chilly winter evenings in front of the fire. My friends and I were crocheting at the same time, bundled up at home, sharing our project progress with one another, and it was very cozy.
While we haven’t had much snow this winter, the temperature has taken a sudden plunge. Just in time to put this cowl to use.
