Last week I detailed the long process of finding and purchasing the bulk of my rustic, medieval-inspired fall wedding reception. This week, I have a few preview photos of how the décor all came together.
These pictures were taken during rehearsal set-up where I directed a small army to put this here and that there. The venue boasts two styles of hand-made reclaimed wooden tables: round, and rectangular, so I had two different designs for table-scapes as well. Above, the long rectangles were adorned with off-white chiffon runners, faux eucalyptus in two species, and real locally sourced white pumpkins.
The round tables were topped with my handmade doilies, wood-slices à la Jake, and growlers filled with pampas grasses. The napkins are champagne colored and the plates, not pictured, were white.
The sweetheart table is where most of the decoration budget went because I felt that it was such an important focal point. The furs and skulls were collected at the Brimfield Flea Market and Renaissance Faires across New England, while other elements from both the round and rectangular tables were also incorporated. Three runners, a hand-crocheted table sash, faux greenery, feathers, pumpkins and etched goblets all suitable for lord and lady dress the table up a little more than the others.
Lastly for this post, the ceremony space was enhanced by the venue’s selection of wooden arch and oak barrels, and my contribution of orange mums in white pots. A short ceremony doesn’t need too much decoration.
