Well I just took all of July off from posting, didn’t I? I did come back August 1st with a finished garment; A bridal jacket, no less. Even though it’s summer, I’ve been very busy with wedding design, gardening, commissions, work, and volunteering. This drought has my lawn looking awful, but the vegetables are loving the heat. It’s been an excellent year for beans, herbs, and flowers, and Jake and I are scheming to expand our edible growing capacity for next year.
Earlier this season I made some bright bouquets from the flowers in my own yard. These are in addition to the bouquets that Jake brings home from the farm every week. I love the way a fresh bouquet makes my kitchen feel so much happier, and we have to take the time to enjoy the flowers while they’re in season.
Back in the office, I’ve been volunteering a little of my time to design promotional materials for Artworks Westfield, Inc. Below are two samples from the summer campaign which include a concert series and a weekly open-mic night.
Several projects will be wrapping up at once this fall, so I should have plenty more to catalog here soon. But if I miss a week of posting here or there, imagine me on a beach recharging.
