Another homemade detail for my upcoming bridal shower: a Welcome Sign. Made of decoupage flowers, herbs, and paint on MDF board, this sign saw several revisions as I experimented with medium and color. I collected herbs and flowers from my garden before the hard frost last year and arranged them on a gessoed and undercoated board with mod podge. After a long cure, I painted on more white with a sponge and pallet knife and added the lettering by hand.
I feel very lucky to have this party to look forward to and am putting a lot of time into small details that I hope will make our guests feel welcome and appreciated. Small décor projects like this one not only provide time for reflection on my gratitude, but they are a relaxing, low-stakes creative outlet and an opportunity for endless personalization of the wedding events.
