With much good fortune I scored a limited-edition black Khadija set from Moresca’s Labor Day Sale. Fair season, and therefore most vendors’ income, has been cancelled this year, leading some vendors to hold never-before-seen online sales.
I’ve been waiting for a Khadija belt and cuffs for a few years, but unfortunately, the line was discontinued recently when a trim supplier went out of business. While I wasn’t able to get matching pieces to the bodice that I already own, I jumped at the opportunity to get a full set in all black.
Added bonus: this sale came with a contest. Those who participated in the sale were invited to submit a photo of their “fiercest outfit” incorporating the new black set. Top three will go to a vote on social media. I don’t know yet whether I’ve made it into the top three, but regardless of the outcome, I had a lovely time organizing a small photo shoot to showcase the new garments.
Of course, 2020 has called for far fewer photo shoots than a normal year for me, so it was a nice bit of “normal” to get back out there with the false-lashes and impractical skirts for the sake of a photo. Posted here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot.
I believe the contest will be taking place on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/moresca.inc or possibly instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moresca.inc/ If I end up winning the contest, I’ll be sure to post about it here.
