Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
Let me fail to access my emotions for a minute here, and talk about what this fresh internet start means to me, or at least, what my intentions for it are.
I’ve always been kind an over-publisher when it comes to designing websites. There’s a battle and a balance between keeping a site simple and clean, and getting out all the stuff I have to say and share and show! A website for me has always been another avenue for self expression. I make a lot of things, and I think a lot of things, and like so many people of my generation I want to share those things and experiences whether anyone wants to listen or not. I don’t entirely understand why I want to share so much of my creativity with the internet…I certainly don’t care about an eighth of the things that my peers post online…let alone all of it.
But I’m full of ideas and creative impulses, and at the end of the day, I don’t care all that much who sees the things that I make. I just want to make them! So, really, this website isn’t so much about sharing as it is about cataloging. This space on the web, I hope, will chronicle my creative process, the learning, and the end products. Through this cataloging, I hope to easily reflect on my work, learn about myself, and find even more motivation to extend myself creatively. If I amass a huge portfolio of work to showcase, sell, and land jobs with as a result, that’s awesome, but all of this work is first for me!
To all you readers who are interested in my work and adventures, I thank you for your time and encouragement. I hope you enjoy watching me talk to myself and that you find a little bit of joy looking at the things that I make and the words that I type.
Now back to Valentine’s day. Valentine’s day is about love, right? Well I love to make things. If you are reading this, you probably love to make things too. If you don’t, well you just haven’t found the right medium yet. Creation can be a super powerful positive force in anyone’s life. It is highly personal and satisfying when done with love. Why not give it a try?
