I have signed a lease on my very own studio space! Located at #527 Western Avenue Studios, 122 WesternAvenue, Lowell, MA 01851, I have 230 square feet of work and retail space all to myself! I start the move in process this week, and hope to have the place open to the public by August. The first Saturday of every month, Western Ave opens its doors to the public, and invites people to take a look at all of the artwork happening inside. I hope to participate in my first Open Studio on August 4th, 2012.
Today I went in to get my key and take my first good survey of the empty space. Here’s what it looks like right now:
Four walls, wood floor, and two giant windows. I bought that cool iron corner shelf at a yard sale and repainted it last week. It will look great in the space when it is finished.
Here is my lonely broom, and a trash bag hanging on a push pin left by the previous tenant. Look! I even have an outlet…..
There is a lot that needs to be done here. I plan to totally transform the space, and I will keep you informed as to my progress.
