I just bought a new camera! It is a Nikon D3100, and it is absolutely wonderful. So far I have been nothing but impressed. Though DSLRs can be expensive, there is really no comparison between a camera like this, and even the best of point and shoots. I decided that it was about time that I got a really nice camera just because of my profession really. I am taking photographs constantly!!! Either for reference, or to document my work, or at Conventions and galleries.
I know that this camera is going to increase the quality of my shots, and allow me to take shots in situations that were once impossible. Point and shoots are great in bright sun-light, but as soon as you need a high resolution, are in low light, or want to take a picture of something that’s moving, you run into all sorts of problems. An upgrade was definitely necessary. To help me get used to my new camera, I sent out a tweet asking if any of my close friends wanted/needed to have their picture taken for anything. And this lovely young lady answered the call!! The two of us set out to get her some really nice portraits, and me some much needed practice.
We started with some professional shots that she could use on job networking sites.
After a few indoor shots, we moved outdoors into the beautiful sunlight to get some more fun and casual portraits.
I think that her shirt dress and blue shoes are totally adorable and really compliment the landscape.
Besides your typical portraits, we also made use of my camera’s exceptional burst mode.
Then we hugged some trees.
I think this pictures looks magical.
I love the rocks and of course, her smile!
Those shoes.
In the sun with style.
And there you have it! My first portrait photo shoot with my new Camera. If you need any pictures taken, you know where to find me. And if you don’t know where to find me, you’d better go to http://shaunart.net
